Hi, I’m Kylie, and gardening is my passion. Ever since I could walk I have been in the garden. I would help my mom plant, tend and harvest the garden every year, and every year I loved it even more. I grew up outside, so naturally I figured why not go to school for it? I achieved my degree in Environmental Studies with a minor in Plant Biology where my love of all things plants grew to understanding the science behind the ‘who, what, where, when why, and how’ of plants. Now I figure, why not share this knowledge with you all! Lately I have been watching the prices of fresh, healthy foods skyrocket. With gardening the past few years, I have been able to grow amazing fresh produce from my garden, and for at least two months out of the year, we did not buy a single vegetable from the store! This is what I want for you and your family. My goal is to help Manitobans realize the potential of a raised bed kitchen garden. Though our winters are cold and long, and we may have a limited amount of frost-free days, we can easily grow fresh healthy food for our families and save money doing it. Gardening doesn’t have to be difficult here in Manitoba, and we want to show you how.
